Hendriks Motorsport awarded an invitation to the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The points leader of the NWES Teams Championship will participate in the world famous Festival of Speed, Giorgio Maggi to race the Hillclimb Shootout

By leading the Teams Championship after the third event of the 2019 NWES season at Brands Hatch, Hendriks Motorsport earned an invitation in the world famous Goodwood Festival Of Speed. On July 4-7 the #50 Ford Mustang will join the NASCAR delegation at the British meeting and it will be current ELITE 2 points leader Giorgio Maggi who will race it in the traditional Goodwood Hillclimb Shootout among some of the most iconic cars and drivers in the world.

One of the greatly coveted prizes of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is the opportunity for the mid-season leader of the Teams Championship to be invited to the Goodwood Festival of Speed among the NASCAR delegation. For the 2019 season the honour went to Hendriks Motorsport and the #50 Ford Mustang thanks to the efforts of Loris Hezemans – fourth in the ELITE 1 points standings – and Giorgio Maggi, who is leading the ELITE 2 Division.

Driving the Hendriks Motorsport Mustang in the traditional Goodwood Hillclimb among some of the best drivers in the world will be Swiss rookie Giorgio Maggi, who enjoyed a positive start of the season and sits atop the ELITE 2 Division standings with one win and four top-5s in his first NWES season.

“We had quite a challenging first part of the season and the whole team was fantastic in working together with me and Loris to always have a competitive car on track. We showed great potential, we are leading the championship and it’s simply incredible to be able to go to Goodwood,” said Maggi. “With Loris we been wanting to go there for many years and I’m really looking forward to be there in person, meet some of the greatest motorsport legends and drive my Euro NASCAR Mustang up the Goodwood Hill!”

Maggi and the Hendriks Motorsport team will join NASCAR legends and representatives as well as NWES President – CEO Jerome Galpin and many others in what will be Euro NASCAR’s third consecutive presence at the Festival of Speed.

The 2019 edition will mark the 20th anniversary of the Goodwood Hillclimb. After three days of practice and one qualifying session, the Shootout on the 1.16-mile course will once again be the highlight of the show on Sunday, July 7th.
